The principle of operation is gear rotation. In a mechanical clock,the main moving parts include the springgears, balance wheel, and hands.The spring is responsible for storingenergy, which is released to drive the gears. The gears transmit energysmoothly through a series of transmissions and also control themovement of the hands. The balance wheel stabilizes the passage oftime by oscillating.The entire mechanism works together to make thehands move at a certain rate to show the exact time.
